MCR Pathways

MCR Pathways

MCR Pathways is an award-winning charity.  We provide a school-based mentoring programme for vulnerable young people across Surrey.

Our programme is proven to drive better educational outcomes for young people, through educational attainment, stay-on rates and positive post-education destinations.

The young people that we support are typically experienced or facing challenges or other kinds of instability. All of our mentors are volunteers who give just 1 hour a week to mentor the young person they are matched to. We aim to help young people realise their full potential, no matter what their circumstances are. We are looking to recruit more volunteer mentors across Surrey.

Volunteering as a mentor offers the chance to give back to your community, and transform the life of a young person facing challenges whilst also helping to develop your own skills in communication, listening, empathy, and leadership all of which will help you in a professional capacity. No special experience is required - full training and ongoing support is provided. If you are caring, able to listen and want to make a difference you can be a mentor!

We are looking for mentors in the Redhill area and are also keen to develop partnerships with local businesses who might consider releasing staff for 1 hour a week to support a young person in the local community.

For businesses that get involved with the programme, mentoring also has huge benefits, such as increased staff retention, productivity, and engagement with a truly impactful local social purpose.
